Exploring Ephesians
The Epistle to the Ephesians is a Survival Manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we’ve been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world.
“The Epistle to the Ephesians is a complete Body of Divinity. In the first chapter you have the doctrines of the gospel; in the next, you have the experience of the Christians; and before the Epistle is finished, you have the precepts of the Christian faith. Whosoever would see Christianity in one treatise, let him ‘read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest’ the Epistle to the Ephesians.” (C. H. Spurgeon)The Epistle to the Ephesians is intensely practical because it shows us how the gospel affects the everyday lives of believers. God the Father planned for Jesus to create a multi-ethnic community of followers. Comprised of Jews and non-Jews, they live in unity as one body in their families, neighborhoods, and churches, because of God’s grace.
Ephesians also contains two of the most memorable passages in the New Testament: the doctrine that salvation comes by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ, and the metaphor of the Full Armor of God.
Join us each week Exploring Ephesians at Grace Bible Church, as we dive deeply into the text of Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians and discover the rich reservoir of relevant resources that are ours in Christ.
