Why is it that one lie always leads to another lie? Why is David relying on his own wisdom instead of seeking for God’s wisdom? Why does David want the sword of Goliath which is far too heavy for him to use in battle? Why do the men of Gath call David the King of Israel when they know that the reigning king of Israel is Saul? What are the lessons we can draw from this account of failures in David’s life that have application in our lives today?
